General Physical Conditioning class places an emphasis on weight training for strength development of all muscle groups.  Agility will be done with major emphasis on flexibility, foot speed, core body, and endurance. Proper lifting techniques, safety, and spotting procedures will be taught to develop the total body.  A major assessment will be performed once every nine weeks on mental and physical toughness.

Physical Education I course introduces freshmen to concepts of physical education, such as: cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, muscular endurance, strength, obesity and weight control, posture, stress and chemical awareness.  Also, students will be introduced to various team sports, including: flag football, softball, wrestling, basketball, and volleyball.  In addition, students will participate in individual lifetime activities and non-traditional team sports such as: swimming, badminton, ping-pong, tennis, and bowling.  This course satisfies the state requirement of one semester health and one semester of P.E. and includes a 9-week unit each in chemical  awareness, human sexuality, nutrition, and improving your self-esteem

Physical Education 2 The emphasis of the class is developing proficient skills for lifetime sports activities such as bowling, swimming, golf, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, tennis, as well as non-traditional team sports.  Proper behavior, rules, and fundamentals will be emphasized. Instructor: Malerie Manche

Women's Health course is a combination of physical activity and health information.  Students will be exposed to topics such as latest health trends, establishing personal workouts and a fitness plan, diseases affecting women, nutrition and awareness issues.  Activities include job shadowing, awareness issues, and guest speakers.  Students should expect to participate in workouts that involve the restrictive bands, medicine balls, pilate balls, light weight and jogging training.  The goal of this course is to increase the knowledge of  women’s health and develp a healthy lifestyle that can be maintained after high school.
