2021-2021 SHS Yearbook Staff

The students in the Composition for Publication-Technology class, which is also known as Yearbook, have one main focus: to work together to produce the best book they can while telling the story of the year. The yearbook is a student publication, so there are often errors, but the staff tries their best to make a great book. The staff also gathers photos and puts together the slideshows that are shown during the athletic banquet and graduation ceremony. In addition, staff members supply photos for the hallways downstairs at Sabetha High School, the board of education office, the district website, the local newspaper, the USD #113 Foundation, and others (upon request and when time is available). The yearbooks are not sold for enough to cover their cost, so the yearbook staff raises funds for the remaining yearbook costs and their camera equipment. They raise funds through book sales, homecoming corsage sales, working concessions, and other various fundraisers.

The yearbook designers work with yearbook's online layout program to prepare the yearbook spreads. They work to carry design elements through the book while working with the photographers to make the best pages possible. They strive to create a book that is both appealing and that speaks for the year and the memories that have been made. They create many drafts and work on their pages until they are happy with the final design.

Photographers on the Yearbook Staff have the responsibility to attend and photograph various in-school and out-of-school events to ensure the documentation of our years at Sabetha High School. It is their duty to ensure that students who attended SHS will have a book filled with all of their most precious memories that they can look back on after graduation. They photograph, select the best images, edit them in various editing softwares, and upload them for the designers to choose from and insert onto the digital pages of the yearbook. The groups work as a team to compile the images of the many memorable moments of our year.
