Bern National Honor Society Blood Drives

January 31, 2012
On a cold and windy January 18, 2012 the American Red Cross Blood drive was held at the Bern Community Building, which was a huge success. The goal for this drive particular drive was 41 units of blood. When closing time rolled around, 52 pints of blood were collected! In addition, 11 out of 28 possible high school students showed up to donate, several of which were first time donors. With this drive, the elementary students were involved. They participated in a program call Pint Sized Hero, which allowed them to watch their parent(s) donate blood. As a token of appreciation, the elementary students will receive a small prize. Thank you to everyone who donated their time and effort, joining us in our fight to save lives!
