What types of community service activities does this group participate in?
- Food Drive for local pantry
- Donated money to Summerfield & Axtell Communities
- Raised money for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital
Do you ever get any compliments for your community service?
Yes, every year the volunteers from our local food pantry are amazed at the amount of food our school collects.
How many students are in your club?
There are currently 7 members in NHS.
Do you enjoy being part in helping kids learn to help our community?
Yes, it is a very rewarding experience.
What type of community service are you planning on doing this year?
• Food Drive
• Hats for St. Jude’s Fundraiser
• Birthday bulletin board
• Staff appreciation activities
• Bingo at Life Care Center in Seneca
What grade requirements are currently in place that students must meet in order to be a part of this club?
Students must have a 3.4 GPA.
Do your students get credit for colleges or any other recognition when they help the community?
Volunteer work looks good on scholarship applications & builds character.
