USD 113 District Administration

Mr. Dennis Stones, Superintendent
Mr. Stones, a native of Sabetha, has been Superintendent for USD 113 since 2010 and prior to the consolidation a Superintendent for USD 441 since 1999. He attended Peru State College where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and then continued his education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he earned a Master's Degree in Educational Administration. He has served the USD 441 district as SHS principal then assistant superintendent prior to his current position with USD 113.  Before returning to Sabetha, Mr. Stones was a high school principal in Madison, Kansas for two years; grades 7-12 principal for 5 years in Kremlin, Oklahoma; and a teacher and coach for 10 years in Nebraska.

Dr. Volora Hanzlicek, Assistant Superintendent
Dr. Hanzlicek grew up in Fairview, KS, not far from Sabetha.  She attended Highland Community College, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education from Washburn University, and completed a Master's Degree in Administration from Northwest Missouri State University.  In 2006 she earned her Doctorate from Kansas State University.  Prior to working in USD 113 she worked in USD 441 for 10 years.  Before USD 441, Dr. Hanzlicek held the position of 6-12 grade principal and MS Athletic Director at Midway Schools (now consolidated).  She also previously taught 7th and 8th grade English and coached for six years at Easton, KS.  Dr. Hanzlicek has many family ties to our area.  The strong educational history and family prompted Dr. Hanzlicek, her husband Matt, and their children, Akaylah and Alaina, to move to Sabetha in 1999.
