Meet Mrs. Grollmes
March 09, 2007
Becky Grollmes has always enjoyed working with people and especially children. After graduating from Atwater High School, her first job while attending Merced College was working at Merced County Child Development Center, first as an aide and later as a full time preschool teacher. Wanting to be closer to her family, she moved to Topeka in 1978 to finish her education. She attended Washburn University part time while working a full time job. Mrs. Grollmes became the first grade teacher at Wetmore in 1984. In 1997 she started her master of Library Science degree at Emporia State University and became Wetmore's Library Media Specialist. Mrs. Grollmes now teaches 6th grade History and 7th & 8th grade Language Arts as well as teaching library classes in the afternoon. She loves her job with all the different activities that are always going on in the library and working with all age groups.
Mrs. Grollmes has been married to Victor Grollmes for thirty years and has two children Greg and Amy, and a dog named Sadie.
