Wetmore High School Presents Willy Wonka, Jr.
Musical Director Mr. Seth Stires and Stage Director Mrs. Linda Boyd plan too “sweeten” things up at Wetmore High chool by announcing that the fall musical this year will be Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory Jr. The play is based on a book by Roald Dahl. It was adapted for the stage by Leslie Bricusse and Timothy A. McDonald. Lyrics and music are by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley. The musical boasts such memorable songs as “Pure Imagination” “I Want It Now!” and “Candy Man.”
Auditions were held on August 29th at 7pm at Wetmore High school. All students who auditioned were given a part. The cast includes:

Boyd is enthusiastic about producing Willy Wonka. “It’s such an iconic musical. Everyone remembers the film version with Gene Wilder, and I was happy to see that many of the fun elements of the movie are in the stage version, “said Boyd.
Choreographer Kaitlin Claycamp says she is very excited for this year’s musical and hopes that everyone comes to see it. The dates of the musical will be, November 7th and 8th at 7 p.m. In the event that Centralia football team goes to regional’s the Friday night show will be rescheduled on Sunday November 10th at 2:30. Pre-sale tickets prices for the show are $8 for adults, and $6 for students and senior citizens. Ticket prices will be a dollar more at the door.
