Freshmen members attend Greenhand Conference
On Wednesday, September 19, six members Khristian, Brett, Adam, Nathan, Kate and Alexis attended the Greenhand Conference with 200 other members, at Silver Lake High School. Greenhand conference is held annually for all the Greenhands (first year members) by the District officer team. While members are there they take part in workshops developed to inform members of opportunities that are available to them in the FFA. This year's workshops were about WLC -Washington Leadership Conference, SAE's -Supervised Agriculture Experience, Team building, Trips and other Fun Activities, and Contests. Part of the conference also includes taking the Greenhand knowledge test, to test the knowledge that they have gained about FFA this school year. Before the conclusion of the day members were able to hear a keynote address from Lexi Wingerson. a former state officer who will be representing Kansas at the 84th National Convention as the National Officer Candidate.
Students were able to meet members from the the district and were also able to get to know several of the Sabetha members as the two chapters traveled together for this event.
Overall the day was a great day for the Greenhands, they were able to meet new friends and also gain insite on what FFA has to offer for them.
