Elysia McGill is the K-5 Music Instructor at Sabetha Elementary School.  She has been teaching in Sabetha since assigned for her student teaching experience in January of 2003. She was hired by the district shortly before graduating college.

Mrs. McGill was born and raised in Falls City, NE where she resides with her husband, Matt and 2 daughters, Madyson and Pyper. Mrs. McGill graduated from Falls City High School in 1998 and went on to college at Peru State College.

While at Peru State College, McGill was involved in many activities such as the Madrigal Singers, Concert Choir and Student Senate. She was also very involved in the PSC MENC (Music Education) chapter where I held the offices of Treasurer, Vice-President and President. McGill graduated Cum Laude in the spring of 2003 with a degree of K-12 Vocal/Instrumental Music Education. In December of 2006 Mrs. McGill graduated from Baker University where she received my Masters of Art in Education degree. At SES Mrs. McGill is the Vice-Chair for the Professional Development Council (PDC) and serves on the Crisis Committee.

During Mrs. McGill’s first year of teaching in Sabetha, she was nominated for the State of Kansas' Horizon Award that recognizes outstanding first year teachers. McGill is also a Level 1 Certified Orff Instructor. She is currently working on several Music Certifications that will allow her to teach more effectively. Mrs. McGill is an involved teacher and believes in a very hands on approach in her teaching.  Please make sure you go and like the Mrs. McGill's SES Music Makers page on Facebook!

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling to watch her daughters play softball, cooking and spending time with family and friends. Mrs. McGill is also very involved in her church, St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church, where she serves as an assistant minister and president of the women’s group. Through her church she serves on the state of Nebraska Synod Council and is the Vice-President of the state of Nebraska’s Women’s organization.
